"I read it in two days, I couldn't put it down, and I just have to say it was brilliant from start to finish. Honest, sad, happy, truthful, funny, bitchy. I think you summed up what a lot of people couldn't even start to understand about the post traumatic stress these guys went through, and still are. I found it to be a very honest summary of what you saw and heard. If people have a problem with some of the content, well tough...If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!!!! Overall Kerry, it was a fabulous. I got three copies."

"I just wanted to drop a note saying how well I enjoyed the book. While not the stature of the FDNY,I too belong in a pipeband as well as being a firefighter. I managed to read the book in two and a half days because I felt I couldn't put it down for any length of time. It is always something special about reading what goes on about family life relating to firefighters because it is slightly different than other walks of life. I gave away several books as gifts and have received nothing but great compliments about the book."

Dear Ms. Sheridan,
I finished "Bagpipe Brothers" earlier today and wanted to tell you what a wonderful book you've written. I know how much it must mean for the firefighters to tell their stories and am touched by the amount of trust they placed in you to speak for them. In their culture, that is a real honor.
I've met a number of FDNY firefighters on visits to New York City and have been so impressed by these incredible men. In July, my husband, son, and I went to Rescue 4 and were treated with such hospitality. Don Meyer, one of the firefighters there, gave us an in-depth tour of the "Spirit of Oklahoma," and he spent a lot of time with us. We also got to sit around the dining room table, which was really cool.
Thank you for writing such a wonderful book.

Good day Ms. Sheridan,
I am a police officer and also a fireman in the suburbs of Chicago. I read your book, Bagpipe Brothers. It is incredible. I commend you on your efforts, and how you brought such a deep feeling to the reading. It was outstanding. Have you written other related books? I am curious to know more.
Best, Jim Sakelakos

Kerry,
I was at a 1st birthday party last week in NJ and decided to take a stroll to a little Irish shop I saw on the avenue not far from the party. I bought your book and as I am a piper ( play with a band in Westchester NY called Blackthorn, in 1997 I was in Scotland for the World Pipeband Championships and meet the FDNY band and hung out with them for several days before and after the competition. They are salt of the earth people.
Today I finished the book and wanted to tell you that I enjoyed it, learned some new things but mostly was moved by it.
Well, keep up the good work, I wish you luck in the future.
Thank you for telling the story it was well worth reading.
Brian Braden
